By train

For the person that likes comfort and and want a head start on a train adventure!

Arendal is connected to the main railway (Sørlandsbanen) via the Arendal Line, running between Nelaug and the heart of Arendal.

Travelling from Oslo, Kristiansand or Stavanger? Change trains at Nelaug for the 37-minute journey to Arendal.

This is the same railway that takes you to the Ticket to Run start line on race day.

Tickets: Book your full journey with Go-Ahead or Entur.

By bus

We at Ticket to Run will always say train.. But if the bus works better for you, getting to Arendal is easy that way too.

Express buses connect Arendal with Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger and other cities. Most stop at Harebakken, just a few minutes from the city centre by local bus or taxi.

Tickets: Book with Vy or NOR-WAY Bussekspress. Local buses are operated by AKT.

By plane

Train is still our favourite.. But if you’re travelling from far away, the plane to Kjevik gets you close. From there, Arendal is less than an hour away.

The nearest airport is Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik (KRS), approximately 45 minutes from Arendal.

Kjevik has direct flights from Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo and Bergen, making Arendal easy to reach from both Norway and abroad.

From the airport, continue to Arendal by airport bus, rental car or taxi.

By foot
